About Me

Even though I was born here in North Texas, I did not grow up in the area. My Dad took a job as an expat and we moved to Malaysia when I was just four years old. I became a third culture kid, growing up in Southeast Asia (mostly in the Philippines) before moving back to North Texas when I was eighteen years old. I worked several years as a paralegal before returning to school after an eleven year break to pursue my passion for social work. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a double minor in Counseling and Addiction Studies from the University of North Texas and my Master’s of Social Work from University of Texas at Arlington. In 2018, I completed training and consultation hours to become an Emdria approved EMDR therapist. In 2021, I became a Board Approved LCSW Supervisor. I have worked in a variety of settings including detention centers, community centers, and behavioral health hospitals. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and my furbabies.
